Earlier this month Saint John the Evangelist Church in Wortley held a Christmas Tree Festival with more than 25 individually decorated and themed Christmas trees within the church and the hall, each one full of colour and light!
Alongside the Christmas trees, there was a craft fair full of ornaments, tree decorations, Christmas centrepieces and even festive nibbles to buy. But the fun didn’t stop there! Over the four days that the event took place; breakfasts were served in the café, carol singers sang along to our favourite festive songs and a nativity service added to this fantastic event.
The Manning Stainton tree was dressed in the Manning Stainton colours, red and blue, complete with branded merchandise and carefully wrapped presents and people donated towards their favourite tree. All proceeds of the Manning Stainton tree went to Mind, a charity dedicated to helping those who struggle with mental health.
Nicola Dresser, Branch Manager of the Wortley branch says: ‘We are proud to support the local community and it was lovely to see the church all dressed up for Christmas!’
