Who doesn’t love a firework spectacular to get you in the festive spirit? If I’m not standing in a muddy field with a sparkler and a cup of mulled wine in my hand, “Oooing and Aahhing" at the lights in the sky then it’s not November. This could be one of our best festive occasions so we have compiled a list of our top 6 fireworks displays, to help you decide where to go this year.
Glebelands Garforth –Friday 2nd of November on Glebelands playing fields
This year Garforth and District Lions Club are holding a firework spectacular. You should arrive around 6pm and the bonfire will be lit half an hour later. The main display will start at 7pm. There will be kids entertainment and food and drinks stalls open throughout the night.
Thorner Victory Hall – Saturday 3rd November on Carr lane in Thorner
This is said to be one of the best fireworks displays in Leeds, the bonfire will be lit at 6:30 pm followed by a children’s display at 7 pm and the main display at 8 pm. You should book tickets in advance from the Thorner post box deli, there will be limited tickets available on the night.
Wetherby Community Bonfire – Saturday 3rd November at the Wetherby Sports Association
This display will take place at the Wetherby sports association at 5:30 pm. Tickets are £5, this admits one adult and two under 16’s. There will be children’s face painting and fairground rides before the main event and street food stalls serving burgers, hotdogs, wood-fired pizzas and churros. The fireworks display starts at 7:30 pm.
Yeadon Cricket Club Annual Bonfire and Firework Display – Saturday 4th of November at Yeadon Cricket Club
The Yeadon cricket club opens at 6 pm and there will be music, a BBQ and a bar to keep you warmed up until the bonfire is lit. This display is a favourite amongst the locals as it promises to be a great spectacle with plenty of family fun.
Stockeld park fireworks - Sunday 4th of November at Stockeld Park in Wetherby
If you’ve been to this event before you will know how good it is and the same team is putting it on again this year. You’ll want to get to Stockeld Park at 5 pm to get a good spot to watch the display, it will start at 5:30 pm on the dot. Look out for the fire breathers and the Guy Fawkes impersonator. Tickets are £7 for single admission or £25 for a family of four.
Roundhay Park - Monday 5th of November in Roundhay
Around 70,000 spectators gather in Roundhay park for this display so you know it’s worth watching. The bonfire is lit at 7:30 pm and the display will start at 8 pm. There is a small children’s fun fair and food and drink stalls. There is a great selection of pubs around Roundhay to warm up in after the festivities so take your pick.
