Despite the Beast From The East and Storm Emma, Spring is finally in sight. And as the snow thaws and the flowers begin to bloom, Spring is often the time that many homeowners look to how they can improve their homes.
Many have their own personal sense of style – and we think that’s great. Nothing says welcome home like an expression of creativity through your interiors. However, keeping a finger on the pulse and retaining a knowledge of the upcoming trends is a great way to find inspiration for any Spring projects which you may be embarking on.
This spring there are a wave of trends emerging, and we’ve got the low down in this blog post.
Ice Cream Colours
An emerging trend in both fashion and interiors, Ice Cream Colours (or Gelato colours) are vibrant tones which provide a fun and refreshing theme to your space. Experts suggest investing in key pieces to stay ahead of the trends, or alternatively look at paints which you can use to upcycle your furniture in an Ice Cream palette.
Marketing communications manager of Valspar Paint says 'Choosing your favourite flavour of ice cream can be a bit like choosing your favourite paint colour. So why only choose one when you can have them all, in a perfect palette of ice cream colours. You can even mix up paint colours to suit your tastes and match accessories by using our in-store colour matching technology.'
Geometrics were popular throughout 2017, although predominantly focused on furnishings, in 2018 it’s all about tiles, wallpaper and art. Focused on creating bold effects, there are many types of wallpaper out there that can help you with achieving the look.
Ombre means “to shade.” It’s been a prominent style in both hairdressing and fashion alike and is an artistic, gradient style which can be implemented in rugs to bedding, fabrics and even lampshades. You can paint this style yourself, although if you’re not comfortable with that, there are lots of great wallpapers available.
