What to do in Wetherby
Wetherby is a beautiful town with lots of scenic sights and plenty to do. The town centre is bustling with independent shops, pubs and restaurants.
Wetherby has its very own cinema, that’s right! The cinema opened its doors in 1915 as the Raby Picture House. This cinema is still going strong and is currently showing new releases such as Mary Queen of Scots, Stan and Ollie and How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World.

The very first race meet at Wetherby Racecourse was on the 30th March 1891 and the course has not slowed down since. The course holds flat and jump race days and is particularly known for its Boxing Day meet. The next race will be on Tuesday the 19th of February, click here to check the details for further race meets and ticket information.
If there is not a race day the course is open for public access, dog walkers and runners are always welcome on the car park grounds.
Kanyu has three escape room experiences ranging in difficulty and theme. Each escape room requires a minimum of 2 players to 8. You will be locked in the room and will need to solve the puzzles, using clues and your team’s skills, to escape in the time frame. All experiences take a maximum of an hour to complete, if you escape in under an hour you can test your skills against more difficult rooms on your next visit.

Where to Eat
There is something for everyone in Wetherby as far as dining goes.
Italian Eats
Our favourite Italian has to be Sant Angelo which is located just off the market square and has a great outdoor seating patio for warmer weather.
Something Special
For the wow factor we love Don’t Tell the Duke and we highly recommend their Surf and Turf sharing board for a smorgasbord of steak, lobster and king prawns.
Sunday Roast
For the best roast dinner in the area we recommend The Scott’s Arms, it’s a 5-minute drive from Wetherby but it’s well worth the journey.
Best independent shops
Andrews traditional butchers
This family-owned butchers is the best in Wetherby and are particularly known for their sausages. Especially their Chilli and Coriander sausages.
