This is the old Gamecock Inn in 1963, on Gamble Hill. It is now Heron foods on Butt Lane. This building has hardly changed at all and it is good to see the original exterior is still showing.
This is a photo of the Horsefield number 157 tram at Pudsey Terminus on Chapeltown. This photo is believed to have been taken in the 1940's. As you can still see the Commercial Hotel is still standing only it is now a pub and still going strong.
We had to include this particular comparison because it also shows the difference in how we used to get around. There are no trams in Pudsey now but they're not forgotten.
This picture of Chapeltown is from 1978, the house on the left-hand side is known to have been owned by Wiliam Wilson who made and sold oatcakes in the town. As you can see the bus stops are still in the same place they have just been renewed.
It is lovely to see that so much of our original buildings and roadways still exist today and we are still building towards the future.
