Spring 2019 Interior Design Trends
Spring is here! It’s time to ditch the greys and beiges and bring a little colour back into our homes. The weather might not to be quite tropical just yet; all the more reason to get the decorating in early. On that note we’ve had a look at some of the most stylish Spring 2019 Interior Trends to give you some inspiration, here’s what we found.
Art Deco is the epitome of glamour and sophistication, transporting us back the 1920’s. 2012 sent us all twenties crazy with Leonardo Dicaprio and his Great Gatsby phenomenon. Seven years on Art Deco is making a welcomed reappearance in our home décor. The Art Deco era executes geometric lines combined with strong colour palettes including oranges and pinks to channel a retro vibe. However if you want a hint of Deco but don’t fancy going so bold, why not try minimalistic nudes combined with key Art Deco accessories to give you that twenties feel. After years of the corner sofas taking pride of place in our homes, a change is coming with the revival of rounded furniture and accent chairs in keeping with the Deco theme, we can’t guarantee their comfort level but we can guarantee they’ll look the part.
In keeping with the Art Deco theme, Pantone's colour of 2019 is ‘Living Coral’ and it’s already proving popular. The soft pastel palette creates a calming yet uplifting colour scheme whether you go for a coral feature wall or accent accessory. Pair your coral with other soft hues or experiment with oranges, red even pale blues. Coral doesn’t have to be limited to the living room why not add coral textures in the bedroom or a bold feature wall in the bathroom. Coral is the perfect way to give your home a splash of colour, without darkening the room and shrinking the apparent space. So if you fancy a change go on give coral a try we’re sure you won’t regret it!
Unfinished is the New Finished
After years of hiding things away in cupboards and a strict no access rule into any partially decorated rooms, it seems times have changed. The concept of unfinished being the new finished is taking 2019 by storm. We’re seeing the rise of open shelves, exposing our porridge oats in vintage looking jars or keeping unused herbs in quirky containers for all our visitors to admire. As concern for the environment grows the concept of reuse and recycle is becoming a global trend and a fashionable one at that. Pre-loved wooden furniture that has a story to tell creates a characteristic yet stylish look, combine it with open shelves offers a spacious yet modern finish. Adding mismatched textures to your accessories will add a cosy element to the room.
Whatever your interior style may be, why not try something new this Spring. Whether it be a change in accessories or a full décor revamp you never know you might just enjoy it!
