Oakwood Craft Market is celebrating its first birthday in style, with a free summer garden party
Oakwood Traders and Residents invite you all to celebrate the first Birthday of Oakwood Craft Market on 29th July 12-7pm at Oakwood Clock.
In addition to the usual array of interesting independent local crafts people and traders, there will be a similarly diverse array of entertainment on offer. Live on stage we have local bands and singers including the popular Roundhay Ukulele Group, Cosmo the Magician will be wowing the kids, and no doubt plenty of adults as well, with his sleight of hand. School of Rock will be running a free samba drumming workshops for Adults and Children plus the amazing Flamenco Dancers.
You won’t go hungry with a diverse range of local street food vendors offering a variety of cuisines including, BBQ Burgers, Indian delights, Greek mezze and woodfired pizza and there’s plenty of vegetarian and other options to cater for all diets. If you need to quench your thirst, there will be a scrummy cider bar and local bars Preston and Stew & Oyster will have summer inspired drinks on offer.
There are also lots of activities at Sylva Café throughout the day and there’s the opportunity to find out about local sports and hobby groups with a large number gathering in the Roundhay Parochial Hall on Fitzroy Drive, a mere stone’s throw away. There are so many local groups to get involved with, why not head down and find out what’s on offer?
The day, which is entirely free, runs from noon to 7pm, literally at the foot of Oakwood Clock itself.
The Ceilidh kicks off the dancing at 7:30 and will finish around 11pm.
These events throughout the year are a great opportunity for the local community to come together to celebrate everything going on in our own unique corner of Leeds. We look forward to seeing you and your friends and family there.
