Manning Stainton’s mortgage specialist wins top industry award
Jo Murgatroyd, a mortgage and protection manager at Manning Stainton, has won the ‘Women In Protection’ award at the first ever Financial Reporter’s Women’s Recognition Awards.
Jo impressed a panel of 16 judges and beat over 15 other nominees to scoop the award, which recognises women who’ve made a significant contribution to the mortgage protection industry and who have dedication to equality in financial services.
The Financial Reporter Women's Recognition Awards has been launched to support the growing momentum for a more diverse and equal financial services community.
Speaking about the win, Jo said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have won this award! The awards have been set up to recognise the large number of women working in the financial services industry, which is traditionally a male dominated sector, so it’s great that females are now being given a chance to shine.”
“I’m passionate about ensuring my mortgage customers are adequately protected against things like redundancy, critical illness and death and ensure I work closely with each one to make them aware of potential risks and to make sure they are covered by the right products. It’s this passion and commitment that won me the award.”
Mark Manning, managing director of Manning Stainton, added: “A huge well done to Jo who beat off an impressive number of nominees to win the award. It’s a fantastic achievement and a really great reward for the exceptional service she provides to her customers.”
Jo has worked at Manning Stainton for 17 years and her main aim is to provide customers with advice on the right mortgage deal for their circumstances and relevant protection products they may need, such as life assurance and critical illness cover.
She is passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience, and also won the Gold Award for the best Mortgage Adviser experience in an estate agency in 2015.
