Hi there, welcome to another one of our special market updates.
It was impossible to not film something today - another landmark day. 700 days since we voted to leave the EU and unfortunately Theresa has not managed to make it through the month of May.
She will be leaving us on the 7th of June and it's an interesting time.
People are going to be asking “what's going on in the market,” “what's going to happen next” and you know I'm going to keep on the same theme really, the anticipation is going to be much, much more than the reality.
We have seen consistently over the last two years since the Brexit vote, prices continue to rise. Our average price across 19 offices has come up 5.6% since then.
What’s more, if you look at the Land Registry prices for this area - Yorkshire and Humberside, over the last year we’re talking about an increase of 3.6% and the great news is I can tell you on the ground, that we're now selling over a third of the properties that we market for their asking price level or higher.
So there's really nothing wrong with the market. Of course, uncertainty is never a great thing but our view looking at what's happened over the past two years, is that things will probably continue as they have been doing.
But as always, keep in touch through these market updates and we will let you know that what's going on in the market.
If you're thinking about moving, we'd love to talk to you about how we can help you move in 2019.
