The Guiseley branch of Manning Stainton was the proud sponsor of a highly successful community street party.
The St Oswald’s Street Party on Towngate in Guiseley consisted of an exciting assortment of stalls and fun rides along with a packed programme of entertainment by local singers, musical groups and dance acts.
Actors from the newly formed community arts company Codswallop also brought their own brand of mayhem to the event, challenging innocent bystanders to duels. Characters depicting St Oswald and Aidan were also on hand to explain more about their colourful past and encourage youngsters to create their own cardboard armour in the Creation Station.
All the money raised at the well-attended event is going to the Guiseley Christmas Lights Appeal, an initiative launched for the first time in 2016 by local MP Stuart Andrew.
Stuart, the Member of Parliament for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, says: ‘It was wonderful to see so many people turn out for our Christmas lights switch on that it seemed appropriate to keep the great community spirit for which Guiseley is renowned going.
‘I am so grateful to all the members of the committee who have worked tirelessly to put on the street party and of course Manning Stainton and all the local businesses and organisations for their kind support.’
Manning Stainton supported the St Oswald’s Street Party through its on-going Community Support Programme which helps groups and other worthwhile organisations in the communities in which it operates.
Matthew Pank, Branch Co-ordinator at the company’s branch on The Green, says: ‘It is great that these initiatives bring the community together in a friendly and fun way and hopefully they will become a regular feature in the life of the town. We are delighted to lend our support.’
The Guiseley branch of Manning Stainton is open seven days a week and the team is ready to take customer calls from 8am-8pm every day. It is one of 19 Residential Sales and Lettings branches across West and North Yorkshire helping people move.
