Hi there, welcome to another market update.
It's interesting isn't it, watching the political environment that we're in at the moment.
We're down from 13 to 10 contenders for the conservative leadership and our new prime minister, but none of that really seems to be having much effect on the market.
I was interested in reading a report this morning that was done by the guys at Zoopla, that said that over the next six months 81% of people are expecting house prices to rise!
You know it's God's own country, our very own home, here in Yorkshire that were the most optimistic of all for once; 91% of people expecting the prices we're going to rise over that period.
The most negative are the guys down in London - so a complete switch between that north-south divide. Normally it’s the south who are really positive about the market but no, it's up here in the north!
Our own research says something very similar. Over the last 12 months, we've seen prices rise in excess of 4%, the average price across Manning Stainton is now just above £214,000 for a property within this area.
A lot of that has been fuelled by that demand that sits in the market, that pent-up demand, and just this last month we've seen an increase in the number of first-time buyers registering.
Over the last three months over a thousand first-time buyers registered to get their first foot on the ladder, this is all positive news
for the market.
As we look forward, as always stay in touch with us through these updates.
We're keen to keep you abreast of what's happening in the marketplace and we'd love to talk to you about how we can help you move in 2019!
Thanks for watching.
