Isabelle's Achievement Is Tree-mendous
A county wide drawing competition attracting over 500 entries has been won by a Yeadon school girl.
11 year old Isabelle Whitaker, a year 6 pupil at Yeadon Westfield Junior School, triumphed in the ‘Draw your dream tree house’ competition organised by estate agent Manning Stainton as part of its Community Support Programme and which was open to schools across West and North Yorkshire.
Isabelle’s winning entry featured a tree house at the top of a large apple tree, complete with full length slide into a swimming pool and colourful balloons fluttering from the chimney pot. It also included the well-known Manning Stainton sold board!
The first prize was an iPad Air, while the school received a cheque for £500. The money will be added to funds currently being raised to convert the former caretaker’s bungalow into an additional teaching space.
The school’s Head Teacher, Lisa Piotrowicz, says:
‘We are all incredibly proud of Isabelle who, like every one of our wonderful pupils, has an extremely fertile imagination.
‘Her success means we are also now a step closer to achieving our fund raising target and the creation of an exciting new facility for the benefit of the whole school.’
Clare Frieze, Manager of Manning Stainton’s Guiseley branch says:
‘The quality of entries has been unbelievably high so for Isabelle to be named the overall winner is some achievement. It was a real honour to visit the school and present the prizes.’
The Guiseley branch of Manning Stainton is open 7 days a week and the team is ready to take customer calls from 8am – 8pm every day. It is one of 19 Residential Sales and Lettings branches across West and North Yorkshire helping people move.
