If you’re looking for a family day out with a difference then why not try out the incredible Yorkshire Sculpture Park near Wakefield?
Located just one mile from junction 38 of the M1, it really could not be any easier to get to and entry is FREE!
The YSP is situated in the stunning grounds of the 18th century Bretton Estate and is one of the world’s leading open-air galleries. Many of the sculptures are on display across the 500 acres of scenic landscape and also in five indoor galleries.
Keep an eye out for some household names that are featured including, Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. And don’t leave without seeing the magical Shell Groto and Greek Temple, and if you have children they will love an interactive sculpture called Playground.
A welcoming restaurant serves a choice of locally sourced and freshly cooked food and if there is a better view anywhere else in Yorkshire then we definitely want to hear about it. There’s also plenty of space for a good old picnic!
