The first thing you can do in order not to spend forever carving pumpkins is not to carve them! You don’t need to have pumpkins with scary faces or bats. Think of it as, interior design meets Halloween.
The best hack has to be covering the pumpkin with spray paint, metallic usually work the best in gold or silver. Grab those metallic nail polishes and drip gold or silver on the pumpkin, this will give it a real fairy-tale look.
Cookie cutters are so helpful for quick and easy pumpkin carving. All you will need is a cookie cutter and a hammer. Choose whatever shape you like, and hammer the cookie cutter into the pumpkin until it is almost all inside the pumpkin. Then chop the top off the pumpkin in a lid shape and scoop out the inside along with the cookie cutter, you will find that you have a perfect shape in your pumpkin and no disasters.
Permanent marker can work really well, as you can draw your design on the pumpkin without the mess of carving it. You can also use your permanent marker to draw faces or designs on your candles. Buy simple white pillar candles and draw your designs on them.
You can get stencils online if you’d like to carve your pumpkin, but lack a creative flare. Either use the stencil with spray paint or carve the negative space.
The fastest way to carve a pumpkin has to be a power tool. (This method is for adults only) If you get a large drill bit and drill holes or patterns on the pumpkin after you carve it out. You will have a beautiful lantern when a candle is put inside it.
