Food and music lovers across Leeds and Harrogate are spoilt for choice this weekend, with several events which are set to attract large crowds, as well as exhibit some of the finest entertainment and food around!
In Harrogate, StrEat Food & Family Fun Festival returns, with over 60 handpicked traders, who will be serving up a diverse array of cuisines, from Japanese to Greek. As well as street food vendors, there will be a variety of entertainment, including live music and children’s activities. Last year’s event attracted more than 100,000 people with many people enjoying the all weekend festival!
In Leeds, Water Lane Boathouse is hosting a big feast! In association with Leeds Beer Week, food traders will be on hand serving dishes from across the globe, including the likes of, Smak! who specialize in Polish cuisine, Holy Crab, who serve seafood snacks and small plates, and Small Victories, who will be serving up Sourdough Pizza. The event offers free entry for all, what’s more children and dogs are more than welcome! As well as the delicious food on offer, there will also be some of the regions top Breweries in attendance, which will bring a wide variety of creative, locally brewed beers with them.
As well as this, one of Leeds most anticipated events is taking place this weekend, with Leeds West Indian Carnival set to take over the streets of the city. Now in its 50th year, the carnival will see locals and visitors enjoy the “jaw dropping costumes from across the UK and the perfect recipe of tastes, sights and sounds that make Leeds West Indian Carnival one of Europes most adored Caribbean carnival.”
Over in Wetherby is a brand new music festival named Shed Stock. Held at The Engine Shed, and taking place on Sunday 27th August. As well as a line-up of musicians, who will perform a variety of genres from Blues to Folk across two stages, there will be carnival games and children’s activities, so the event is welcoming to all!
