Property Sales Fall as Market Cools
Yorkshire Evening Post - 14th September 2007
Figures released from the Land Registry show that the number of contracts exchanged in postcode areas covered by Manning Stainton across leeds Wakefield and Wetherby have fallen by 13% when comparing the first half of 2006 with the first half of 2007.
This slow down is to be expected give the interest rate rises we have experienced, the fact that we are dealing with a mature market and the lack of ability of first time buyers to get onto the housing ladder.
However, in this tougher market our overall market share has grown adding weight to our belief that we offer one of the most successful house selling services across Leeds, Wakefield and Wetherby.
We believe that the transitional period during which HIPs are likely to be introduced for all properties by the end of the year is likely to trigger a more difficult market until things settle down.
