The Government has confirmed that almost all residential properties coming onto the property market in England and Wales after the 1st June 2007 will need a compliant Home Information Pack.  This will typically add around £500 to the cost of moving house and, in all probability, see the end of the ‘no sale – no charge’ market place which house sellers have enjoyed for many years.

Given that an unsuccessful sale will probably result in a cost of £500 it is feared that many would be sellers of houses could decide not to market their property.  Time will tell.
