A Good Start to 2007
Wharfe Valley Times - 8th February 2007
January 2007 has shown us a mixed bag of results at our offices in Guiseley, Horsforth and Adel. In Adel a very good number of properties for sale have reached the market thereby boosting the number of properties available for buyers at a time when the choice has been restricted. Conversely, compared with January 2006 sales have been a little bit slower.
Guiseley has carried out significantly more valuations in January 2007 when compared with the same month last year but has not seen as many new properties come onto the market for sale. Sales have however matched 2006 levels. We confidently expect the levels of new instructions to rise in February as Guiseley is traditionally a ‘late starter’.
However, it is a totally different story at our ‘Branch if the Year’ in Horsforth where the number of marketing appraisals carried out on properties in Horsforth, Apperley Bridge, Cookridge and Rawdon have rocketed leading to a 50% increase in the number of new properties placed on the market for sale when compared with the same month last year. Sales have also increased by 40% confirming the Horsforth remains one of the most popular districts of Leeds.
Overall, Manning Stainton have carried out significantly more marketing appraisals in January 2007 when compared to January 2006 which is, we believe, an indication that there is still a great deal of confidence remaining in the Leeds housing market.
