A property of “Significant historical interest in a stunning location….”

Every once in a while a truly unique property comes to market, and this is one of them! A two bed end cottage within the Fulneck Moravian Settlement and adjacent to open fields, it is the only property available to “the public” and the vendor had lived there for over 20 years. Enjoying a stunning location and with scenic walks nearby – yet close to Pudsey’s many amenities – the area is regularly used for filming both “Emmerdale” and “The Royal”.
The present owner conducts guided walks around the settlement and says the most frequently asked question is: “How do you get to buy a house on here?”
The answer is that you can’t, because all the properties bar No.19 belong to the church and are let as and when they become vacant.
The settlement was founded in 1744 and is centred around Grace Hall, the present church and of course the famous Fulneck Schools – but Paul Cooke, Manning Stainton’s Pudsey branch manager, points out that the Moravians are not a sect or a closed organisation.
Indeed, a number of tenants within the settlement are not members of the Moravian church and there is no obligation to join anything, except, says Paul, the many friendly community activities there!
A Music Society, Prize winning Dramatic Society, Concerts, Moravian street market, Choral Events and – oh yes – Line Dancing every Thursday are all awaiting the lucky buyer of 19 Fulneck!
Priced at £189,950 it’s well worth a look. But, say Manning Stainton, don’t leave it too long!
