It was a truly wonderful evening at the Hilton hotelin Leeds on the 27th January where over 200 members of Leeds and Wakefield estate agents, surveyors, and mortgage advisers, Manning Stainton met to celebrate their achievements in 2006. Details of the awards can be found below.
Horsforth Triumph At Manning Stainton Pride Awards
A joyful Sarah Dowthwaite lead her team of Horsforth estate agents on to the stage at the Hilton Hotel, Leeds, to receive Manning Stainton’s ultimate accolade, “Branch of the Year”.
The award recognises both performance and customer service as estate agents and is testament to the hard work undertaken by Sarah and her team throughout 2006. Other estate agency branches to receive nominations were Pudsey, Oakwood and Wakefield.
A whole host of other awards were collected by other members of the leading estate agents in Leeds and Wakefield. “Knowing how hard the entire company has worked this year, it is a real honour to have won. This was our goal and we are all so proud to have achieved it!” Commented Gill Landale, branch co-ordinator at the horsforth estate agents.
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Business Achievement Award
Tina Rowden’s team of Guiseley estate agents won the “Business Achievement Award” for an outstanding increase in performance which is abundantly shown by the huge number of “sold” boards deployed on houses for sale in Guiseley, Yeadon and Rawdon.
Tina puts her latest success down to hard work, determination and customer service.
“During 2006 we have implemented a whole host of new initiatives to make the process of selling houses for sale in Guiseley, Yeadon and Rawdon more effective. They key to this has been imputing more emphasis on keeping in touch with people trying to buy houses in the Guiseley, Yeadon and Rawdon districts. Winning such an award in itself will be fantastic for our team, but the fact that we are part of Manning Stainton, one of the leading estate agents in the country, makes the result even more important”, said Tina.
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Recognition For Great Customer Service
Every year one department or division shows exceptional performance in the field of “great customer service” and in 2006 it was our Mortgage Support Centre based in Horsforth. The team, never seen by the clients, diligently support mortgage applications submitted by our independent mortgage advisers and liaise with mortgage lenders and solicitors to ensure that those all important mortgage offers are issued swiftly.
The performance this year has been exceptional in beating the targets set for the time taken to have mortgages offers issued.
Mortgage Operations Manager Carol Crossland said “I am overjoyed for the team, they are fantastic. I feel privileged to lead them and am so proud. This is a tremendous recognition for the effort we have put in this year in helping people buy houses in Leeds and Wakefield from Manning Stainton. We are largely anonymous despite playing vital part in the home moving process. We are very proud of our award and to work for Manning Stainton Mortgages.”
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Mortgage Consultant of the Year
A visibly moved Peter Clarkson collected the Mortgage Consultant of the Year award beating 19 other independent mortgage advisers to the title. Peter has been with Manning Stainton for a good many years and has worked in the areas of Leeds including Manning Stainton’s branches in Rothwell, Pudsey, Horsforth, Guiseley, Headingley and latterly Moortown.
Peter had double cause to celebrate as he has won this award two years consecutively.
Peter commented “It is thrilling to get the award and great fun to have a little Oscar moment on stage! On a personal level, it’s really heart-warming to be recognised by your employers in front of your peers.”
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Outstanding Contribution Award
Neil Dickens, Land and New Homes Director proudly lead his new homes sales team on to the stage to collect this coveted award. Our Land and New Homes Team have had a fantastic year increasing the number of new homes developments handled as well as a huge rise in the number of new homes sold. “Our house sales performance in 2006 has been superb and it is all due to my new homes sales teams who work across Leeds and Wakefield. 2007 looks to be equally successful with many new homes developments scheduled for launch in 2007” said Neil

The estate agency Negotiator of the Year attracts three individual winners. This award is based on customer service performance levels over the year.
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Negotiator of the Year - Gold Award
The gold award was won by Joanne Williams of our Morley estate agency office. Joanne has been handling houses for sale in the Morley, Gildersome and Churwell areas for a considerable period of time and is now one of the most experienced estate agents in Morley. Her role in the most effective team of estate agents in Morley has been very influential and greatly appreciated by all team members and her Manager, David James.
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Negotiator of the Year – Platinum Award
It was the turn of the Wakefield estate agency team to celebrate as Joanne Johnson scooped the Platinum award with a superb year long performance at our busy office in Wood Street, Wakefield. Joanne has worked at our Wakefield property showroom since it opened in 2005 and has consistently helped the owners of properties for sale in Wakefield to achieve their dream of buying a new home.
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Negotiator of the Year – Diamond Award
This year’s top accolade for an estate agency negotiator, our Diamond award, went to Janet Jackson of our Pudsey office. Janet consistently goes out of her way to introduce both house buyers and sellers in pudsey and Bramley to the whole spectrum of services offered by Manning Stainton. Janet is an integral member of the most successful estate agents in Pudsey and is likely to be the first person you will speak to when you visit our premises at Lidgett Hill.
“Winning the Negotiator of the Year Award for the second consecutive year is certainly icing on the cake for doing the job I love.” Said a delighted Janet.

Our Give Back Awards are awarded for to the individuals who are judged to have:
- Produced the most innovative “ideas” and were not afraid to adopt best practices.
- Supported other members of staff by sharing knowledge and exploiting its power to get things done.
- Seen to be a team player – ensuring that an atmosphere of co-operation and help pervades the office.

Lynda Stewart of our Adel branch is one of the most respected estate agents in North Leeds, having worked for Manning Stainton for many years, initially at our Headingley office. Lynda’s standards of customer service are exemplary and she is always willing to adopt new practices and working methods in the never-ending changes which affect estate agency.

Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Give Back Award – Platinum
A very proud Claire Frieze collected the Platinum award for outstanding contribution to Manning Stainton in 2006. Claire has stepped up to estate agency Branch Manager for our Headingley branch and taken on full responsibility for running the branch. She was also a key team member when we introduced a new estate agency software system in the summer of 2006. Claire has consistently gone out of her way to contribute to Manning Stainton’s success as the leading estate agents in Leeds and Wakefield.

Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Give Back Award - Diamond
Nicole Gilhooley picked up the top Give Back Award following a tremendous contribution to Manning Stainton in spearheading the implementation of our new estate agency software systems.
Nicole worked tirelessly to iron out the bugs in the software and develop it to be as user friendly as possible before implementation. Subsequent to this she has been a key member in our further development and also training. Our new software system enables our estate agency to take further steps forward in developing totally integrated house selling system for the benefit of house buyers and the sellers in Leeds. Without Nicole’s outstanding contribution this could not even be contemplated.
"Manning Stainton has always worked hard to recognise and reward its employees, so I knew during the painful installation of our new software that my work was appreciated by the Operations Board. I certainly didn’t expect a further reward for doing my job, and was even more astounded by the reaction of my colleagues. During the rollout, when new bugs were being found in the software, I wasn’t sure if I’d live to see 2007!" commented Nicole on winning her award.
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Relocation Manager of the Year
There was much to celebrate at the Horsforth office as an individual award was won by Karen Gouws as “Relocation Manager of the Year”. Karen beat off stiff competition to win this award which she has won several times before. The award recognises the assistance she has given to helping people to organise the sale of their properties in other parts of the country enabling them to move to the Leeds area. Karen is a long standing member of the Manning Stainton team at Horsforthand has achieved an outstanding performance in this field year on year.

Having undertaken to give house buyers and sellers in Leeds and Wakefield a 7 day estate agency service, we could not function without the tremendous contribution made by our weekend and part-time negotiators. Lynn Cunningham has consistently been up amongst the top performers all year and ended the year winning this prestigious gold award. Lynn is part of our record breaking Beeston house sales team and was very proud to collect it on the night.

Keeley Kelleher of our very busy Crossgates branch was thrilled to collect her award on stage. The award recognised the key part she has played in a tremendously successful year for our Crossgates house sales team. Keeley is a long standing member of that team, the contribution greatly appreciated by all.
Manning Stainton Pride Awards 2006 - Weekend / Part-time Negotiator – Diamond
Helen King is a key member of our Horsforth sales team working Sunday’s and Monday’s. She is an experienced estate agent and negotiator and loves her job. She regularly covers for holiday and illness and many other Manning Stainton branches which has greatly improved her experience. However, Helen is consistent. It doesn’t matter which office she works in, she consistently excels in customer services and sales.

Every year one new member of staff arrives like a whirlwind and puts in a consistently superb service in terms of sales and customer service. Tina Wood of our very busy Wakefield house sales team arrived mid year and has been one of the top performers every month since. Tina’s enthusiasm is an inspiration to all as she consistently introduces the many services available at Manning Stainton to both house buyers and sellers.
Tina’s contribution a very successful year for our Wakefield sales team goes without question.
