Miller Keeps Building it's Web Service

Miller Homes is further improving one of its unique selling points - mymillerhome.com - by rolling out new technology to support the customer focused website.

Three years ago the UK's largest privately owned housebuilder pioneered the new website, which allows buyers to track their home's build progress through five key stages.

Miller Homes is now set to double this to ten stages, providing customers with a more frequent and regularly updated service.

The company has also added a new animation feature to give buyers a visual representation of their property as it is built from start to finish. Three build progress animations have been created - one for a house of traditional construction, one for a timber frame house and one for an apartment block.

The customer will see the animation relevant to their purchase. Once their home has reached a certain stage of the build, internal animations will be shown demonstrating that the walls have been plastered, the kitchen fitted, the bathroom installed and switches and sockets put in place.

Marketing director, Philip Hogg, said: "The success of mymillerhome.com has been overwhelming in the three years it has been up and running. However, it was important for us to improve the service. We are committed to making the home buying process as smooth and stress free as possible.

"It's fantastic to have achieved a number of accolades for our web advances but our priority is always about offering more to our customers. Our satisfaction scores now show that nearly 90% of our customers would recommend Miller Homes to their best friend."

Nearly half of Miller Homes' customers have used the site since it launched in February 2004.

All buyers are mailed with details of the service as soon as they reserve. After registering, customers are given access to their own secure area within the site which is updated at every key stage of the build and buying process. They can also request text alerts or emails announcing key stages such as roof on or plaster complete.
