Real Estate Investment Trusts (Reits)

Real Estate Investment Trusts (Reits) are being promoted by David Butler, the Programme Director at REITA a campaign which hopes to bring the introduction of Reits to investors via the property market.  He asked the question as to how much of a person’s investment portfolio should be allocated to buy to let property and specifically what type of property should be invested in.

Reits are due to be introduced to investors in January 2007 and are looking for people who require a long term income stream together with capital appreciation.

Effectively, Reits will be another vehicle by which investors can invest in property indirectly.
