Property for Sale Increases in Leeds, Wakefield and Wetherby as HIPs Approach
22nd March 2007
Ed Mead, a Director at Douglas and Gordon stated in an article in the Daily Telegraph on the 22nd March bemoaned the fact that house sellers were not contacting agents to put their properties on the market.
That may well be the case in London but we have to tell Ed Mead that this is not the situation in West Yorkshire. After a modest start with regards to the level of new property for sale in January and February, we have seen an avalanche in March!
Although there is much confusion in the minds of home owners, the question of Home Information Packs is to the forefront of many property owners minds. Their decision to come onto the market now, and avoid the potential cost of a Home Information Pack, which we believe will be typically around £500, is apparent.
With the Government’s Home Information Pack advertising campaign commencing in the Sunday papers on the 25th March, we are sure that we will be fielding many more questions from property sellers across, Leeds, Wakefield, Wetherby and West Yorkshire. I will be very surprised if Ed Mead and his colleagues at Douglas and Gordon do not see a similar avalanche in the next eight weeks.
