Work Begins on £3M Link Road
21 August 2007
Work has begun on the £3M final phase of road infrastructure at Calder Park in Wakefield.
The final phase of road infrastructure will link the Asdale Road roundabout at the Swan & Signet Public House to the Denby Dale Road roundabout next to the Red Kite Public House. Once complete the road will open up the park to enable development of the full 1.5m sq ft of office space for which the park has outline planning consent.
Calder Park is the regions fastest growing business park and will ultimately have the potential to be home to over 15,000 jobs.
Nick Hey, Construction Manager at Peel said:
“Once complete the road will open up all the potential development sites on the park, and will display the stunning setting of Calder Park in its full glory.”
Robin Beagley, Director from letting agent Lambert Smith Hampton comments:
“This is a significant investment by Peel in Calder Park that will ensure the continued development of the park.
“Calder Park is an excellent opportunity for businesses to occupy quality offices with fantastic access to the M1 in a location that serves the whole of Yorkshire and the completion of the infrastructure will see a rapid increase in the pace of development on the Park bringing with it strong job creation benefits."
The road will be an additional attraction to the park which already has over 800 employees on site and is home to more than 35 occupiers including George Wimpey, the Highways Agency, Miller Homes, Mitsubishi and The RICS.
