Handelsbanken Open New Branch in Wakefield
17th September 2007
European banking group Handelsbanken announced Wakefield as the location for their newest branch, which takes their UK portfolio to 46 branches.
With branches already set up all around the UK and Europe, Handelsbanken chose Wakefield to start up their newest universal bank. The new branch has no offsite functions, call centre etc, with everything being done by their own staff onsite.
Handelsbanken's territory now stretches across the whole of the Wakefield District as they continue to follow their expansion programme across the UK. With this new addition to the Handelsbanken organisation, they move ever closer to their goal of having 90 branches in operation by 2009.
Handelsbanken’s corporate philosophy has remained the same for over 35 years. The branch is the bank and its customers are their focus. They also operate under a de-centralised model and are renowned for working with local communities and making decisions at a local level.
