Founded in 1846, Nationwide is the world’s largest building society and now has over 13 million members following its merger with Portman Building Society
With five customer contact centres, all based within the UK, Nationwide continues to put its members first by offering excellent customer service.
 
Nationwide opened a new site in Wakefield in February 2006, in a property at Paragon Business Village and it is growing rapidly. The new centre provides a modern working environment with a professional and upbeat atmosphere, providing a range of products and services to customers.
 
Nationwide opened in a new property in Wakefield and is now firmly established, employing 200 people, with plans to recruit a minimum of 100 more by April 2008.
 
Open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday and 9am to 5pm on Sundays, Nationwide offers a variety of shifts to accommodate employee needs, both full time and part time. With sales and service teams in place, the centre provides information to new and existing customers and aims to meet member needs by identifying financial products that will benefit them.
 
Senior Manager Neil Bennett is extremely proud of the Wakefield site’s success. He commented:
