Mayor Bob Gettings and Judith Elliott (right) catch up on some reading with branch co-ordinator Diane Sellars. |
September 2006
Morley’s Mayor Cllr Bob Gettings, together with Cllr Judith Elliott, dropped into Manning Stainton’s Estate Agency office on Queen Street Morley recently to thank the company for being the main sponsor of the first Morley Literature Festival held in the town recently– an event which looks set to be a big annual success and put this thriving area firmly on the map!
The Morley Esate Agents have declared their intention to play an active role in this objective and, as a practical demonstration of support, plans are in hand to expand the already successful branch there.
Cllr Gettings commented that Manning Stainton was one of the first organisations to pledge support and was an enormous encouragement to the many people involved in the idea, and subsequent successful birth, of a Literature Festival in the town.
Alison Pickles, Marketing Manager for the Morley Estate Agents, said the company’s Community Fund provided the donation, and the Festival was exactly the type of community initiative for which it was created.
