After a busy shopping day there’s nothing like a hot cup of tea and Yorkshire’s finest fish & chips.
So when Julia Kearney, Project Manager from the Leeds based charity Middleton Elderly Aid asked Manning Stainton to fund the teatime treat for a group of the project’s senior citizens - she didn’t have to trawl any further.
“Of course”, said the company and two coach loads of senior citizens rolled up to Murgatroyd’s in Yeadon after a day out visiting two shopping centres - to meet Manning Stainton Beeston Manager Ian Farbridge and collect the cheque…
“Manning Stainton have helped us before” says Julia “and it’s nice to see a company with such a forward thinking attitude on age issues. We’re a small local charity helping elderly people live safely and independently in their own homes. We depend very much on the kindness of local companies to help us with this work”.
Ian said the Manning Stainton Community Fund was set up to support local projects and initiatives in the communities around their 13 Leeds branches and the Wakefield branch:-
“We’re delighted to be of help” he said “Now, could somebody pass me the sauce bottle?”
