Zoo good to be true! David James with some of the residents heading for a day out. |

When the Denshaw and Newlands Resident Association in Morley decided the adults and children on the estates deserved a day trip they ran into a problem:-
“We just didn’t have the £400 needed to hire a second coach for the trip,” says Vice Chairman Wyn Kidger, “which would have meant disappointing a lot of people”.
Then in stepped Manning Stainton Estate Agents Morley Manager David James – who offered to find the cash from the estate agent’s Community Fund…
“From then on it was Knowsley Safari Park here we come!” said Wyn, “and the kids brought stuffed toy versions of all the animals they were hoping to see. We can’t thank Manning Stainton enough!”
The Residents Association helps tenants with repair problems and other issues, and organises activities for the children on the estates by holding fund days, day trips to museums, theme parks and Christmas parties.
David James, who arrived to see the coaches depart, said this assistance was exactly what the Manning Stainton Community Fund is there to do:-
“£400 is a small price to pay for the extra coach load of happiness we’ve just waved off. The area is getting its act together, the school is doing well and any encouragement local businesses can provide just helps to keep that confidence growing.”
