When Barbara McLaren, Manager of the Horsforth Live at Home scheme in Leeds, asked Estate Agents Manning Stainton for help with their winter hamper purchases the answer was an immediate Yes…
“We offer support and friendship all year round for almost 400 older residents in the Horsforth community,” says Barbara.
“The scheme is part of the nationwide Live at Home initiative by Methodist Homes for the Aged and we have an incredible diversity of activities for all older members of the Horsforth community. These include visiting, befriending, bacon butties and Thursday lunch clubs, shopping trips, property and garden maintenance, pub lunches and even motor biking recently!”
50 enthusiastic scheme volunteers help older members of the community maintain their inclusion and participation in all aspects of local life and, in thanking Manning Stainton, Barbara says the donation is a great encouragement at a time when scheme funds have increasing demands placed on them.
Alison Pickles, Marketing Manager at Manning Stainton said: -
“The company’s Community Fund was created to provide help and financial support to local projects and initiatives close to our 14 branches and, as our Head Office is located in Horsforth, we were particularly delighted to help Barbara and her team continue the good work in Horsforth.”
