Generous to a tea – that’s Manning Stainton!

When The Salvation Army in Morley asked estate agent Manning Stainton to help them celebrate their 125th Anniversary the company naturally agreed, and asked what they would like…

“What we really need,” said Associate Officer Lieutenant Rachel Gotobed, “is a new tea service and plates for our ever-growing and popular Parent and Toddler groups and Senior Citizens’ weekly Luncheon Club!”

Which is why Morley branch manager David James found himself in charge of a teapot at a thank-you gathering of the groups recently!

This year marks an important double milestone for The Salvation Army in Morley as it celebrates 125 years since the Corps opened in November 1882 – and their building on Ackroyd Street will be 100 years old.

The presentation was a welcome break for David, whose new and much bigger branch in Queen Street is attracting plenty of activity from home buyers and sellers in the town – breaking all previous business targets on a regular basis!

“The Manning Stainton Community Fund was established several years ago in order to help with financial support for local community initiatives and projects” he says. “We supported the inaugural Morley Literature Festival last year and we are doing so again this year alongside a number of other projects. Right across our branch network we aim to be an integral part of, and contributor to, the local community.”
