The continued success of Rothwell Bowling Club – winning six trophies and finishing runners-up in three more last year – is due in no small part to an excellent team spirit partly generated, says Secretary Alan Hedley, by the introduction of club colours for the first time.
So when Alan asked Roithwell estate agents Manning Stainton for assistance in buying an additional set of team shirts they didn’t hesitate: -
“We know all about team spirit at Manning Stainton!” says estate agency Rothwell branch manager Gerry Downs, pointing out that the company had achieved a SUNDAY TIMES 100 BEST SMALL COMPANIES TO WORK FOR listing recently for the second year in succession!
The Club was founded on its present site around 1910 and enjoys a growing membership of almost 90, including a fair number of younger players from across the local area.
“The smartness of our turnout and standard of play was commented on throughout last summer and we believe that if a team looks professional then it will be professional” said Team Captain Robert Strickland.
“Rothwell Bowling Club would like to thank Manning Stainton for the generosity shown in supporting a local organisation like ours.”
Gerry said the Manning Stainton Community Fund was established to provide financial support for local projects and community initiatives, and the whole team at Rothwell branch was delighted to have been of help.
